We believe that we, as Christians, are called to minister. From infants to adults, we offer many ministries aimed at helping our congregation and community grow.
"The idea that service to God should have only to do with a church altar, singing, reading, sacrifice, and the like is without doubt but the worst trick of the devil. How could the devil have led us more effectively astray than by the narrow conception that the service of God takes place only in the church and by works done therein.  …  The whole world could abound with services to the Lord  …  not only in churches but also in the home, kitchen, workshop, and field."

West Orange Church of Christ aims to serve both the members of our congregation as well as the communities in which we live. Everyone has their own starting point and pace at which to grow in their spiritual walk, and we as a congregation are here to help each other along the way. Our children's Bible Communities use a curriculum developed to get kids excited about God. Our Youth Group, young adults in grades 6-12, empowers our children to develop relationships with Christ and to hold each other accountable in their own walks. The adults of our congregation study various topics together so that we can understand and draw clarification from one another.

 

Through our community outreach ministries, we are able to spread the Word of God outside of our own building. By fellowship, lending a hand, mentoring, or simply remaining visible in the community, we heed the calling to "be a light in the darkness".

 

In addition to our own ministry, our congregation provides support to many other faith-based organizations in an effort to impact the lives of those in our community and beyond.
